I have joined a great group on Ravelry. We are knitting from our sock yarn stash. And not just socks. next month we are doing mittens. which is great, because I am into colorwork and mittens right now.

These are my plain vanilla socks-meaning they are just a simple rib pattern.

After Christmas breather

I have been a bad blogger. but We have a rough Dec. Christmas was great and a blessing. But the beginning of Dec was bad. Abi fell and sent one of her front teeth into her gums. And split her lip real bad. She is all healed up and the tooth is slowly moving back down. Then we all got a horrible stomach virus. So I didn't have time to blog about the wonderful Tote bag and goodies I got from Vickie in Australia. It was part of a tote bag swap I was part of. She sent a lot of goodie too. As you can see I am using it for my knitting. Thanks again Vickie!!!

Christmas was great and I am so ready for the new year without out extra junk to keep me away from serving my family. My New Year resolution is family first (after God of course). No more wasting time on oneside friendships. I learn a huge lesson last year. I can only give so much of myself before I will lose myself trying to please others.

I have to share what I made my sister for Christmas. Needles to say she was surprised. :)

Getting Ready for Christmas

Yes, I said Christmas not Holidays. It is Christmas to me. The Reason for the season is Jesus. No matter what spin people want to put on it.

I am excited for Christmas this year. it will be a lot of fun now that Abigail is 2 and can understand better what is going on. The kids have their Christmas pictures on Monday. Abi's Christmas outfit is finished and I can't wait to see how it looks on her. I am very happy with it. I found the cutest fabric for it.

Thanksgiving was wonderful and relaxing. I behaved and didn't over eat. Kept my blood sugars in line. ( Newly Type 2)

I am looking forward to the New Year. A fresh start. Old baggage has been removed. God did some Spiritual spring cleaning this month in my life. and while it hurt for a while. I am much better off and happy.

Big changes are happening and I am very excited about the changes. One is them will be that now that the Guest house is finally free again. After a very long year. We will be moving Mick's office down there. and Zack will be switching bedrooms and Abi will finally have her own room. She is in ours right now. I am looking forward to having my bedroom free of toys.

My blog is back over here. the other site didn't work out, since it was under the control of another person and that didn't work out. never let some one else have control over your stuff. lesson learned.

Abi's Surgery is over.

Thank you again to everyone who ordered Bags from me. Abi's Surgery was yesterday. She was a trooper. Today she is up and running around like nothing happened yesterday. It is amazing to me. She has 3 stitched on the inside of her lip and two crowns. But seems to be eating just fine. Here are the before surgery pics and after.

Daddy is holding her after they gave her to happy juice to make her sleepy.

I am holding her post ob trying to wake her up so we can do home.

Wolmeise drawing will be tomorrow. I need to get all the orders in to a hat to draw from.

Hi Everyone,

Abigail (17 months old) chipped a baby tooth this weekend. Not because she fell, but because she has some problems with her teeth. She has inadequate tooth enamel. It makes her teeth very weak. Luckily Her permanent teeth should be fine. But we have to keep her baby teeth healthy for the permanent ones will be too.

Well we went to the dentist yesterday to see what they could do and I was told that she needs $1650 worth of work done. They need to do it at the hospital and put her under because she need so much work done. Her surgery is scheduled for May 19th. We have to pay them 1/3 before they will do the surgery.

When I got home I thought about what I could do besides cry since we don't have $1650. So I thought I could reach out to the knitting community and offer handmade knitting project bags.

They are 8" high by 10" wide. They will hold 4-5 balls of yarn and has a pocket for DPN's.

With a donation of $25 for one with an embroidered design on it. That includes US shipping!!! You will also have the chance to get a skein of sock yarn with it. I will pick out 5 random bags that will include a skein of yarn.

multi tasking

I having been enjoying my life with my new baby. And part of it is trying to multi task. and have a little time for the things I like to do. Abi is not a good napper. I can not count on her sleeping a couple of hours during her nap. I have to lay with her or hold her. She is a classic High needs baby. Which is fine, since at 42 I didn't think I would have any more. And I am enjoying every minute with her. Just don't expect a clean house. LOL I just have to get more creative when she is awake. I also knit while she is asleep on me.

I love this sling, it is called the Ultimate baby wrap. It is worth its weight in gold. I can wear her and spin for a few minutes. Both Mom and baby are happy.

Abigail was born Oct 28 at 8:30 pm. She weighed 8 lbs 1 oz. 21 inches long.

Hard to believe she is finally here. We are doing well!!!

What is up with my cat? He is a Main Coon with long hair and he acts like he is a furless cat. Here he is sitting on the coffee maker while it is on. Keep in mind this is a 17 pound cat that is double the size of a normal kitty.

I had an ultrasound today at 14 weeks. Happy to say everthing looks good. I will post a photo soon. It will be a few more weeks before we can find out if it is a boy or girl.

I have not been knitting at all the last two weeks. I thought getting my Black belt in Tae Kwon Do at the age of 40 was amazing. But I think I am about to top that. At 41 years of age I am pregnant. I am in shock and amazed. My son is 8 years old. He was conceived via infertility treatments. And we had tried over the years to conceive another with help, and it never worked out. So at 41 I get a surprise. We were no longer trying or thinking about having anymore. I knew I was blessed to have my son. I spent two weeks feeling sick and wondering what I had. It took me two weeks to figure out I was pregnant.

I am starting to feel a little bit better. Morning sickness is a little less. So I hope to be back to knitting. I am almost finished with SOTSii. I have less then half the last clue to go. I will try to finish the shawls I started, but I think it is time to switch to baby knitting.

Knit, knit, knit, Spin and Dye

This is the Secret of the Stole II. I am almost done. 1 1/2 clues to go.

This is half of the first clue on the Mystery Shawl 2008 #7. I just started it yesterday. I love the color. I don't think I will be able to give this one away.

I have also Spinning some, But I have to be careful not to overdo it. The back is still giving me fits.

I also learned to dye yarn with Acid dye. My first try was a success. This will be used for the Mystic Shawl KAL. It is Fingering weight and I am very excited about this one starting next week.

First handspun

I made my very first skein of yarn. I had some pink and brown and skeined them together. I am happy with the results. I plan to make the felted slipper clogs from Fiber trends with my very first yarn. It has been washed and is now drying. Can't wait to knit with my creation.

A New adventure!!!

I has started a new part of my knitting life. I have now added spinning. I learned to spin on a spindle a few months ago. I just bought a wheel a week ago and had my first lesson yesterday. I think i did good. I bought the Ashford Traveller.

I also jumped in and bought a whole fleece. It is a smaller one at 3.6 pounds, but a lot to me. I figure I want to get back to nature and spin the natural way.

Part of Mocha's fleece I washed last night. it feels so rewarding to see it come off the sheep and see if I can make it into yarn. It is a pretty coco color. The picture doesn't do it justice.
It think this will keep me busy for a very long time.

Down but not out

I am out of Tae kwon do for a while with a back injury. To many spin-jumping kicks I guess. I knew that day I would be sore, but not this bad. I have a muscle spasm in my lower back. But the good news is that is doesn't hurt to knit. So I am doing christmas knitting, KAL shawls and my Ravery Mitten exchange mittens.

I am so glad I can at least knit. Hopefully I will be back to TKD soon. I miss it.

Knitting like crazy

I have been knitting like crazy to finished the two zipper hoodies I am working on. One for DH and one for DS. I am close to being done with both of them. Yes I am working on both at the same time. LOL I want to finish then up and then start on Holiday knitting. And I also signed up for the Secret Stole KAL that starts Oct 5. I will have photos soon.

I started Homeschooling Zachary this week and it is going well. I knit while he does his work and that helps with my patience.

Zachary and I also Started at a New Tae Kwon Do school this week, Since my other TKD Master closed his School. I think I will like this school, but it is strange coming in as a Black belt and knowing they are evaluating your skill set.

I finished my first pair of Monkey socks. I love them. They are a litttle big. BUT I can wear them. I knitted them on 2's. I am now making another pair on 0's. I think they will fit better.

Hi Everyone,

This is my first post. I have been knitting for 24 years. I learned when I was 16. If you do the math you will figure out how old I am. LOL

I also just became a first degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon DO. I am proud of that fact. I never thought at 40 I would achieve that goal.

I will soon bring you photos of my projects I am working on and recently finished.
